VitrA Kentin Hayalleri/Ankara (Dreams of the City)

There was an organization in conversational style in Ted University (that’s my school) in Ankara. Ali Cengizkan (architect), Hakkı Erkök(actor) and Murat Tabanlıoğlu(architect) attended as guest speakers sice they lived in Ankara in a part of their lives. They mentioned about their dreams about Ankara (the capital city of Turkey) and thier good memories in Ankara. They also commented about present-day architectural situation of Ankara. It was beneficial speech.

One of my thougts about that subject is that there are some important structures in the danger of deconstruction. Those important structure for modern architecture are left a side instead protect them. I think that these kind of buildings are precious heritage for modern architecture and the country because architecture and its creations are not somethings like books that we can reach them on the Internet and understand them by reading them from that kind of sources. Architectural creations are something that we have to experience them to understand them so protection of heritages of the modern architecure is so important for architectural education and our culture. For this reason, instead of spending too much money for unnecessary things, the municipality of the Ankara should do somethings for protection of these kind of structures.
